The Notez Music & Arts Education Workshop is a series of 7 workshops
designed to serve as a positive reinforcement for reaching the overall goals of Literacy; Academic Excellence; effective
Communication; and positive Social Development in ALL students. Notez also works to improve the quality of life of those who
are multihandicapped/developmentally disabled, as well as those in recovery as a result of illness or injury.
Hi, my name is Kelly. I am the mother
of a 9 year old Autistic genius. Like my son Cameron, I too, grew up with both exceptional ability and
learning disabilities. Music & Arts Education have played a critical role in the learning process for us both .
Music was our first language. While we
both have exceptional audio and visual memorization capabilities, making the connection from memorization to comprehension
can be difficult especially with Language concepts. Music and Art help us to bridge the distance. The Notez Music
& Arts Education Workshop is a solution. See links titled 'About Notez' and 'Notez Agenda' for complete
details. The Notez Music Education Workshop was designed to support it's students, our public school systems,
and our communities.
From music and art workshops to an internet
study program... from music camp to a music and arts learning center... from research to results... from our back yard
to communities across the nation, the dream continues to unfold. Each one of us marches to the beat of our own drum, especially
in the ways we learn. Every child is a success waiting to happen... with the right tools, anyone can succeed!
"Art to me is tranquility, expression, passion, reality, and survival. My artistic
mind and ability are of so much importance to me because art helps me learn and helps me get through the tough times.
I apply everything taught to me in school to art. Geometry doesn't seem so hard when it becomes shapes, sizes, and lines.
When my paintbrush glides across my canvas, it's like a total release for me. Everything
bad just kind of slips away. I think children need art more than anything in school. They need to be taught in an artistic
way. Most people respond to color and brightness. Most people enjoy creating beautiful things. I guess art to
me is important because art to me is everything."
